Tai-Yi® Energy Work

Life Energy Flow – Tai Yi® is an ancient Chinese form of healing that works with the meridian energy systems of the body. Tai Yi® means ‘Supreme Movement’.

Through this precise, hands-on approach, Jeannie is able to identify and open specific grid points creating a ‘map’, followed by the sending of Tai Yi® energy throughout the bodies. This practice releases stagnant energies, helping create balanced movement throughout the energy systems.

Tai Yi® is a powerful and deeply effective form of hands-on healing and it works on all levels including physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. There are over 4,000 treatments each one targeting a specific issue. It is completely non-invasive.

Jeannie is a Certified Advanced Tai Yi® Practitioner. Jeannie has trained in Life Energy Flow Tai Yi ® since 1995 taking four classes each year. Hossca Harrison, founder and teacher, considers a score of 5.0 to be excellent and considers that student able to work on the public. In April 2011 Jeannie was tested and received a score of 7.12 and was sending energy at 110%.

What to Expect

For those new to Tai Yi, it may be helpful to describe in general terms what may be experienced during and after a session. It is best to come with an attitude of excitement about the session and your healing. You will need to remove all metal, including jewelry, watches, belts, hair clips, etc. Metal can interfere with the energy being sent. Comfortable clothing should be worn (there is no undressing involved), preferably with solid colors and you will be asked to remove your shoes.

Once we have selected the specific treatment to be given, you will lay on a treatment table (like a massage table) during the session.  You will be asked to breathe deeply (never force the breath), relax and consciously be willing to accept the energy.

Typically the exercise will begin with setting the grid, which involves about 1 to 2 pounds of pressure set with the middle finger in a precise location as determined by the treatment. The number of grid points will also vary with each exercise. The grid creates a map and directs the energy where to go.

The grid is followed by the sending of Universal Energy/Tai Yi energy. One may feel heat as this is done; some say it feels like a current of energy flowing into them. Again this is non-invasive and no pain is involved. It is very important that you not touch/scratch yourself during the treatment as this will effect the grid.

Typically the session will last from one to one and a half hours depending on the exercise.

After the Session

After the session, it is best to relax and rest for the rest of the day. Enjoy the healing that is taking place. It is important to keep hydrated for the next 3 to 7 days depending on the treatment so be sure to drink extra water. During that period of time it is also very important to avoid anything that will disturb the grid that was set. This will stop the energy and impact the effectiveness of the exercise. This means no other bodywork, including but not limited to chiropractic, acupuncture, massage or any other type of energy work. It is best to avoid anything that will place strong pressure on the body, such as Jacuzzi or jetted tubs, “bear” hugs, etc.

Use wisdom during this time and respect the healing that is taking place. It is important to remember that Tai Yi energy work does not ‘fix’ you. Instead it brings clarity and understanding to the cause of the issue.  When you understand the issue is when you can make a different choice and then take action on that choice.

Jeannie’s training and expertise in Counseling can assist with issues that may come up.
